My family and I recently got the chance to drive Independence Pass from Aspen, CO to Leadville, CO. All of the views along this drive are amazing, but the view from what is known as the "Top of the Rockies" is breathtaking. It sits along the Continental Divide at 12,095 feet. Every direction you see are amazingly tall mountains, including several "Fourteeners" (peaks >14,000 feet tall).
This brings to mind a couple of quotes from the Bible:
Psalm 90:2 (NCV)
2 Before the mountains were born
and before you created the earth and the world,
you are God.
You have always been, and you will always be.
Psalm 95:4-7 (NCV)
4 The deepest places on earth are his,
and the highest mountains belong to him.
5 The sea is his because he made it,
and he created the land with his own hands.
6 Come, let’s worship him and bow down.
Let’s kneel before the Lord who made us,
7 because he is our God
and we are the people he takes care of
If you ever get the chance, please make this drive, and no matter where you are, take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness of all God has created.
God Bless!
